Maryland

I was only in Baltimore for a little under 24 hours. I was really excited to visit this city, but I went up there to check out their Coffee Outside, but it was canceled because they all went to Richmond for Burning Van, so I went back to Richmond! Baltimore is a city rich with history and culture and I was really hoping to get to see more of it, but in my time there I did do a good 30 miles of biking and saw a decent amount of the city. Much like many other places along the east coast, Baltimore has lots of gorgeous brick building a and beautiful architecture.

Unfortunatly I wasnt able to secure an account with any shops in the city. The market is overun with Trek Bike shops, but many people recommended Baltimore Bicycle Works, a worker owned co-op that puts purchasing up to a vote. I went to both locations and gave my pitch, but alas I have not heard back. But it is ok, they are a cool spot and work with a local maker who goes by PTAP. As I travel the country I learn of new bag makers everywhere I go. I never want to step on toes and am merely looking to play along rather than compete against other makers.

I met a lot of the people from Baltimore in Richmond and they were all really cool. I love how the communities on the east coast all work together to build one community by showing up and supporting each others events. I hope hope to make it back to Baltimore again someday.
